چکیده

A study of the first excited states of beryllium atom starting from explicitly correlated wave functions is carried out. Several properties are obtained and discussed focusing on the analysis of the Hund’s rules in terms of the single-particle and electron pair intracule and extracule densities. A systematic study of the differences on the electronic distributions of the singlet and triplet states is carried out. The trial wave function used to describe the different bound states consists of a generalized Jastrow-type correlation factor times a configuration interaction model wave function. This model wave function has been fixed by using a generalization of the optimized effective potential method to deal with multiconfiguration wave functions. The optimization of the wave function and the calculation of the different quantities is carried out by means of the Variational Monte Carlo method. © 2002 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1503776#

D states of the beryllium atom: Quantum mechanical nonrelativistic calculations employing explicitly correlated Gaussian functions

Very accurate finite-nuclear-mass variational nonrelativistic calculations are performed for the lowest five 1D states (1s2 2p2, 1s2 2s1 3d1, 1s2 2s1 4d1, 1s2 2s1 5d1, and 1s2 2s1 6d1) of the beryllium atom (9Be). The wave functions of the states are expanded in terms of all-electron explicitly correlated Gaussian functions. The exponential parameters of the Gaussians are optimized using the va...

Excited states of beryllium isoelectronic series from explicitly correlated wave functions

A study of the first excited states of some members of the beryllium isoelectronic series is performed. An explicitly correlated wave function is used to describe the different bound states. It consists of a correlation Jastrow factor and a configuration interaction model wave function calculated from a generalization of the optimized effective potential method to deal with multiconfiguration w...

Prediction of (1)P Rydberg energy levels of beryllium based on calculations with explicitly correlated Gaussians.

Benchmark variational calculations are performed for the seven lowest 1s(2)2s np ((1)P), n = 2...8, states of the beryllium atom. The calculations explicitly include the effect of finite mass of (9)Be nucleus and account perturbatively for the mass-velocity, Darwin, and spin-spin relativistic corrections. The wave functions of the states are expanded in terms of all-electron explicitly correlat...

Correlated wave functions for the ground and some excited states of the iron atom.

We study the states arising from the [Ar]4s(2)3d6 and [Ar]4s(1)3d7 configurations of iron atom with explicitly correlated wave functions. The variational wave function is the product of the Jastrow correlation factor times a model function obtained within the parametrized optimized effective potential framework. A systematic analysis of the dependence of both the effective potential and the cor...
